Homes: What can you buy for $10 million?
Homes costing $10 million are ridiculous no matter where they are.
Even luxury properties in cities with soaring home values don't usually go for nearly that much. In San Francisco -- which has a freakishly expensive median home sale price of just over $1 million -- the average lux abode is closer to $3 million, according to the latest Prestige Home Index compiled by First Republic Bank.
Estates at these prices don't quite suit the tastes and pocketbooks of billionaires like Bill Gates, but they're still the speed of A-listers like Heidi Klum.
Here are 10 properties on the market for around $10 million across the country.
